Prept is an iPhone app built around a specific gap in interview preparation: most tools evaluate your first answer and stop, while real interviewers keep pushing. Prept's AI interviewer stays in character, reads what you actually said, and goes after the vaguest or least-supported claim in the response — asking for the specific number, the missing connection, or the detail you skipped. The loop starts with a 60-second spoken answer to a real scenario. Coaching follows immediately: two concrete rules for the next attempt, a framework for what to cover, and a model answer rebuilt from your own words rather than a generic script. Scores move across five dimensions (clarity, structure, conciseness, confidence, and impact) and the app assesses content rather than vocal delivery. A starting diagnostic builds an adaptive program that escalates in difficulty only as your scores hold. Beyond standard behavioral and situational questions, it covers workplace conversations like giving feedback, declining requests, and asking for a promotion. Privacy is handled unusually well: speech is transcribed on-device and audio never leaves the phone, with only the transcript sent for feedback. The main limitation is reach, it requires an iPhone running iOS 17 or later, with no Android or web version. The app launched in mid-2026 and has not yet accumulated enough App Store ratings to establish a track record.
