CareerToolbox (careertoolbox.org) is operated by The JobKnob LLC, a limited liability company registered in Illinois, USA ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Tool submissions. When you use our Submit a Tool form, we collect the information you provide: your name, your email address, and details about the tool you are submitting. We use this information solely to review the submission and to contact you about it.

Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand aggregate site usage — pages visited, approximate location (country level), device type, and referral source. Both services are cookieless and do not build individual visitor profiles. We do not use advertising trackers.

We do not offer user accounts and we do not collect payment information on this site.

How your information is stored and shared

Submission data is stored in Airtable (our database provider) and delivered to us by email via Microsoft's services. Our site is hosted on Vercel. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Data is processed on servers located in the United States; if you access the site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. We take commercially reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as described here or as required by law.

Affiliate links

Some links on CareerToolbox may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking them — at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence our rankings or reviews, and pages containing affiliate links carry a disclosure.

Third-party websites

Our directory links to third-party tools and services. Once you leave our site, the privacy practices of those sites govern — we encourage you to review their policies.

Data retention and your rights

We keep submission data for as long as needed to operate the directory. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@careertoolbox.org. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights, which we honor.

Children's privacy

CareerToolbox is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
